This list has a little something for everyone so whether you’re a camping rookie or pro, do yourself a favour and read on! We’re certain we’ll have you craving to move freely to your next trip by the end of the piece…

Thunderbird Park, Tamborine

Let’s start with the nature hit we all need, Thunderbird Park,Tamborine National Park. You’ll find it located amongst the subtropical rainforest in Tamborine and are likely to swoon at its beauty. You get to bring your caravan to stay in what’s been described as a natural oasis. Once you’ve set up, we suggest you start by exploring the spring-fed creek with translucent rock pools and swimming holes that’s just a short walk away from camp.

Oh and that’s not all! Choose from the countless activities on offer throughout your stay. We’re talking about canon flying, bird feeding, treetop challenges, horse riding, mini golf and laser skirmish just to name a few. Needless to say, Thunderbird Park is one place you can count on to give you a taste of relaxation without neglecting your need for adventure to spice up your days.

Mt Barney Lodge, Mt Barney.

Speaking of adventurous getaways… it’s time to pack your bags, camping gear or caravan and set off to Mt Barney. This mountain is only accessible by foot so we have selected the closest serviced basecamp for climbing it as the campsite of choice. Mt Barney Lodge offers guided expeditions to take on the climb as a team or for the bravest of the bunch, they will arm you with all the local knowledge you need for you to take it on yourself.

The best part? You get to decide how hardcore you want your getaway to be. For the glampers, you’ll likely be tossing up between the Queenslander Homesteads, Rustic Cabins or Deluxe Camper Trailers, and for the campers… you guys get to drive your caravan or camper trailer straight to the grassy campground to set up your gear. All options will place you in a prime position to take in stunning views of Mt Barney throughout your entire stay.

Fingal Holiday Park, Tweed Heads.

Last but certainly not least we’d like you to say hello to the ultimate Tweed Heads stay… Fingal Holiday Park. You can spend your days swimming in the year-round warm water of Fingal Head Beach, snorkelling at Cook island or enjoying a nice long stroll around the headland to Fingal Head Lighthouse.

You get to park the caravan in your choice of a powered or unpowered site and be spoilt with all of the essential amenities like BBQs, wifi and laundry to ensure you’re never stretched too far from your comfort zone.

The best part of your stay will be visiting the hidden beaches of  Litita Spit and Kerosene Inlet and making the most of the kilometres of white sandy beach being right at your doorstep.
